Maharashtra launches AI Saathi for Educators training course

Teachers in the Indian state of Maharashtra are getting a new kind of training.

The training is called AI Saathi for Educators.

It is a virtual, or online, course for educators.

The Kotak Education Foundation and the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Maharashtra, worked together on the launch.

Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse officially launched the course on July 14.

This is the first online course that the state has made a mandatory training programme.

It is part of the state's 20-hour mandatory online professional development framework.

The AI Saathi course gives teachers four hours of certified training.

About 7.5 lakh (750,000) teachers and officers across Maharashtra must take this course.

It covers educators from Grades 1 to 12.
