Govt Launches Employee Enrollment Scheme 2025 and EPFO 3.0 Update
The government has started a new plan called the Employee Enrollment Scheme 2025.
This plan helps companies sign up workers who weren't part of the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) before.
If a company's workers weren't signed up, the company can now do so easily.
They don't have to pay the part of the money that should have been taken from the employee's salary if it wasn't taken out.
The company just pays a small fee of Rs 100.
This is part of an update called EPFO 3.0, which also includes a new website.
There are also plans to let people take money out of their EPF using phone apps or ATMs, making it quicker and easier.
The Employee Enrollment Scheme 2025 was launched on November 1, 2025, to encourage voluntary enrollment of eligible employees.
Employers launching the scheme do not have to pay the employee's share of contributions if it was not deducted earlier.
Employers are only required to pay a nominal penalty of Rs 100 per establishment.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced the scheme and launched a new, user-friendly homepage for the EPFO website (www.epfo.gov.in).
The EPFO 3.0 update also hints at future integration for direct EPF fund withdrawals via UPI apps or bank ATMs.
