India Forms Taskforce to Boost Wind Power Projects
India's government has created a special team to help make more wind power.
Right now, India makes about 55 GW of wind power, but they want to make 108 GW by 2030.
The team will work with different groups to solve problems like finding land for wind turbines, connecting them to the power grid, and making sure everything is built on time.
They will also look at how to make old wind farms better and how to build new ones in the ocean.
The team includes people from the government, power companies, and wind turbine makers.
They want to make sure everyone works together to make clean, cheap, and reliable wind power.
India's current wind power capacity is 55 GW, with a target of 108 GW by 2030.
A Taskforce on Wind Power Projects has been formed to address issues like land acquisition, grid connectivity, and construction timelines.
The taskforce includes representatives from Grid India, CTU, CEA, NIWE, state agencies, and industry bodies.
The taskforce will examine regulatory and policy issues, grid connectivity procedures, and transmission construction timelines.
The goal is to enable 10+ GW per year of new wind capacity to meet India's renewable energy ambitions.
