NFR Workers Protest Railway Privatisation Risks
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) employees' union held their annual meeting from December 8 to 11 in Hojai.
During this meeting, they talked about their problems and concerns.
They are very worried about the government's plan to privatise the railways.
The union leaders, like Dr Raghav Bhai and Munindra Saikia, said that privatisation could cause many problems for the railway workers and make travelling difficult for people across India.
They used the recent problems with IndiGo airline as an example of what could happen.
At the end of the meeting, they all agreed to ask the government to stop the privatisation process for the benefit of both the workers and the travellers.
The 38th annual convention of the NFR employees' union was held from December 8 to 11 in Hojai.
Union members protested against the government's plans to privatise the railways.
