Israeli Strikes Kill Children Amid Gaza Ceasefire Talks
On July 30, 2024, Israeli planes shot down buildings in Gaza, killing at least three people, two of them children.
The Israeli army says it was hitting Hamas fighters, but doctors say many civilians were hurt.
This happened while a ceasefire is in place, so fighting has stopped but small attacks still happen.
In Cairo, leaders from Egypt, Qatar and Turkey are talking with Hamas about a plan that would give more help to Gaza, let Israel leave, and make sure no more weapons are used.
Hamas says the talks are going well, but it has not agreed to give up all its weapons, and Israel wants Hamas to give up all power in Gaza.
The situation is still very tense and many people are worried about safety.
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza killed at least three people, including two children, with reports of a fourth death in a separate strike.
The Israeli military says the strikes targeted Hamas militants, but medics report civilian casualties.
The deaths bring the total Palestinian toll from Israeli attacks since the ceasefire to over 1,200.
Mediators from Egypt, Qatar and Turkey are holding talks in Cairo with Hamas leaders over the second phase of President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan.
Hamas officials say negotiations are "positive" and "making progress," but the group has not yet agreed to fully disarm, while Israel wants Hamas to cede power completely.
