IHG Plans Luxury Hotel Expansion Across India by 2030

InterContinental Hotels Group, or IHG, is planning to build many more hotels in India.

Its first Kimpton hotel in India is planned for Jaipur and is expected to open in 2030.

The project is being developed with the Adani Group.

IHG wants to have 400 hotels open or being built in India by 2030.

It currently has seven brands in the country and hopes to have at least 12.

The company is also considering Kimpton hotels in Mumbai, Mangalore and Thiruvananthapuram.

IHG wants to bring other luxury brands, including Indigo and Regent, to India.

It says younger hotel guests may increasingly value sustainability, technology, personalisation and interaction.

The company is also expanding more affordable Holiday Inn hotels in several Indian locations.
