Anupam Kher Says Elderly Are Not Irrelevant; Experience Never Retires
Anupam Kher is a very famous actor in India.
He made a video on Instagram about older people.
Some people call old people 'irrelevant' or 'useless,' and he thinks that is wrong.
He asked funny questions, like whether God sends a message to people after they turn 70.
He said young people have lots of energy, speed, and new ideas, which is wonderful.
But older people have something else that is very important: experience.
Experience means you already know how to handle many situations because you have lived through them.
He pointed out that many famous people over 70, like Meryl Streep and James Cameron, are still making amazing things.
He called older people the memory bank of society, like a living library.
He wants everyone to remember that being old does not mean your time is over.
Actor Anupam Kher posted an Instagram video questioning why elderly people are labeled 'irrelevant' or 'redundant'.
The 71-year-old actor argued that a person's abilities do not come with an expiry date and that 'experience never retires.'
Kher said youth brings enthusiasm, speed, and new ideas, while age brings wisdom and an understanding of life.
He cited N. R. Narayana Murthy, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Nandan Nilekani, Anand Mahindra, Meryl Streep, and James Cameron as people over 70 who are still creating new things.
He described the elderly as society's 'memory bank,' 'moving history,' and 'living library,' rather than a burden.
