Yokohama India to scale tyre capacity to 6.3 million units

Yokohama is a company that makes tyres for cars.

It has factories in India, including one in a city called Vishakhapatnam.

Right now, Yokohama can make 4.5 million tyres in India every year.

The company plans to make more, up to 6.3 million tyres.

It will add new machines inside its existing factories to do this.

India is one of Yokohama's most important markets.

Many people in India are buying SUVs, like the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.

So Yokohama made a new tyre line called GEOLANDAR X-CV just for these cars.

The new tyres come in 32 different sizes, from 16 to 20 inches.

Yokohama has also spent almost ₹7,000 crore in India over the past five to six years.
