Andhra Pradesh Power Projects Expand Grid
APTRANSCO and APSPDCL are working on big projects to make the power grid in Andhra Pradesh better.
APTRANSCO is building new transmission lines and substations to carry more electricity.
They are also adding new technology to make the system more reliable.
APSPDCL is separating power lines in rural areas to make sure farms and industries get steady electricity.
They are also installing solar panels on rooftops and along power lines to use more clean energy.
Both companies are working to install smart meters to help manage electricity better.
These projects will cost a lot of money but will help make sure everyone has reliable power.
APTRANSCO aims to complete 55 major transmission projects worth Rs 9,319.30 crore, adding 8,853 MVA of transformation capacity and 1,558 circuit km of transmission lines.
APSPDCL is separating 3,015 11 kV feeders and addressing load stress on overloaded 33 kV feeders to ensure reliable power supply in rural areas.
New 400/220/132 kv substations are being developed in strategic locations like Kakinada SEZ, Achutapuram, Gudivada, and Ainavalli.
APTRANSCO currently operates 380 substations, 1,030 power transformers with a total capacity of 71,049 MVA, and over 33,000 circuit kilometres of high voltage transmission lines.
Andhra Pradesh has a total installed power capacity of 21,153 MW, with renewable energy contributing 37% of the installed capacity and 22% of total generation.
