India Rejects Erdogan's Kashmir Remarks, Defends Territorial Sovereignty

India said Turkey’s president should not comment on Jammu and Kashmir.

India considers the region part of its own territory.

Indian officials said the issue is connected to the country’s sovereignty.

They said no outside country or group has the right to intervene.

Turkey’s president has raised Kashmir at the United Nations before.

India has given similar responses in the past.

India also rejected comments from an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation group.

It said those comments were politically motivated and did not change India’s position.
