Gollalagudi Temple Gains National Monument Status, Restoration Planned

The Gollalagudi temple in Palampet has been declared a national monument.

This means the Archaeological Survey of India will help protect and repair it.

Workers will carry out conservation work and minor repairs.

They will also try to fix waterlogging around the temple.

A proper pathway will be built or improved so people can reach it more easily.

The temple has three sanctums and a hall facing east.

Its walls and doorways have many detailed carvings.

Experts generally connect the temple to the Kakatiya period, although its exact date is still being studied.
