MC to Earmark Land for Biogas Plant
The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh is going to have a special event on January 19 at the Dadumajra dumping ground.
They will mark the land for a new plant that makes clean energy from waste.
This plant will help the city handle garbage better, reduce harmful gases, and use less oil.
The event is important because it shows how the dumping site is being turned into a place that's better for the environment.
The city has already cleaned up a lot of old waste and reclaimed 28 acres of land.
The UT Administrator will be there to support this big step towards a greener future.
The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh will hold a land earmarking ceremony on January 19 at the Dadumajra dumping ground for a compressed biogas plant.
The plant aims to enhance waste processing capacity, reduce methane emissions, decrease fossil fuel dependence, and generate renewable energy.
UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria will attend the ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the transformation of the Dadumajra dumping site.
The land earmarking follows the successful bioremediation of legacy waste at Dadumajra, reclaiming nearly 28 acres of land since 2019.
The project aims to turn the dumping site into an environmentally sustainable facility.
