Telangana Urges Faster Bifurcation Settlements, Krishna Water Rights Protection

Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka attended a meeting of southern Indian states near Chennai.

He asked for Telangana’s fair share of Krishna river water to be protected.

He said Telangana was not asking for special treatment.

He wanted existing legal processes to be followed.

He also asked the Central government to help fund two major irrigation projects.

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh still have disagreements about some institutions and assets after their separation.

Vikramarka asked for these issues to be settled quickly and fairly.

He said southern states should cooperate on water, energy, climate, cities and transport.

He offered to host the next meeting in Hyderabad.
