Chhattisgarh Raises Dearness Allowance
The Chhattisgarh government has decided to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees to match the rates given by the central government.
This means that all state government workers, including those who are on contracts or receiving pensions, will now get a higher DA.
The DA has been increased from 55% to 58%.
This change was announced by the Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, at a big meeting of state employees in Raipur.
The employees are happy because this will help them deal with the rising costs of living.
The government said they will keep working to improve the lives of public servants.
Meanwhile, the 8th Pay Commission, which was notified in November 2025, is expected to submit its recommendations within about 18 months.
Its report will determine the new fitment factor, which will ultimately lead to a structural adjustment of salaries and pensions.
