Government Warns Android Users About Fake Adult Apps

Some fake adult apps are designed to trick Android users.

They may be advertised on Facebook, Instagram, or unfamiliar websites.

Users can be asked to download an APK file instead of using the Google Play Store.

After installation, the app may request powerful permissions called Accessibility access.

This could let criminals control parts of the device and attempt to steal money.

Some apps may also install extra software or route internet traffic through attackers’ servers.

They may even make themselves difficult to remove.

The government says users should use trusted app stores and avoid giving sensitive permissions to unfamiliar apps.

If a suspicious app will not go away, users should back up important files and consider a factory reset.
