26 Naxalites Surrender in Chhattisgarh's Sukma

In Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, 26 Naxalites, including 7 women, surrendered to the police and CRPF officials.

They were part of different Maoist groups and were involved in several violent incidents.

The state government's surrender and rehabilitation policy, called 'Poona Margem,' encouraged them to give up violence.

Each of them received Rs 50,000 as initial assistance.

The police have appealed to other Naxalites to surrender and promised them security and a respectable life.

Some of the surrendered cadres had significant bounties on their heads, with the highest being Rs 10 lakh.

The surrender is seen as a major setback to the Maoist organization and a significant victory for the security forces.
