SVIMS Urges Poor Patients to Seek Treatment Assistance

SVIMS is helping families who cannot afford treatment for serious illnesses.

They may be able to receive money through two government assistance programs.

The grant can be as much as ₹10 lakh once in a person’s lifetime.

The money is sent directly to the hospital, so approved treatment can be cashless for the patient.

Families must show income, household and medical documents.

Their doctor and the hospital medical superintendent must support the application.

The process can take up to 45 days.

A seven-year-old boy with a brain tumour recently received 25 radiotherapy treatments at SVIMS.

A hospital scheme paid the remaining cost after other assistance did not cover the full bill.
