India Launches GST Awareness Campaign, Announces Tax Filing Changes
The government is holding a special two-week event called 'GST Pakhwada' to celebrate eight years of GST, which is a tax system.
The goal is to help people understand GST better and answer their questions.
They've set up help centers for this.
Starting in July 2025, how businesses pay their GST will change.
They won't be able to change the numbers on their payment form (GSTR-3B) after submitting it.
Instead, it will be filled automatically based on sales data.
Also, businesses will only have three years to file any overdue GST returns after the deadline, so they are advised to check and fix anything they missed.
CBIC launched a nationwide 'GST Pakhwada' campaign.
The campaign runs until June 30th to mark GST Day.
Helpdesks are set up for taxpayer support and query resolution.
The initiative commemorates eight years of GST implementation in India.
Changes to return filing begin July 2025, making GSTR-3B non-editable.
