Report Says Former Hamas Chief Bodyguard Plotted Attack on Jews

A report says a man who once guarded a Hamas leader later received asylum in the United Kingdom.

The report says he was suspected of planning an attack on Jewish people.

The man was not named directly, but identifying details point to someone called Mohammed A. He is reportedly in his 40s and is the son of a senior Hamas figure.

He had previously been arrested in Egypt more than 10 years ago.

Police detained him in London in November.

He had allegedly made a video announcing the planned attack.

Germany now reportedly wants him extradited over claims involving weapons found in Vienna.
