Nepal Enforces Election Code of Conduct
Nepal is getting ready for its elections on March 5.
Starting January 17, the country will follow special rules to make sure the elections are fair.
The election commission will watch social media sites like Meta, Tiktok, and X to stop people from sharing false information, hate messages, or fake news.
They will use special software to help with this.
If someone breaks the rules, they might face legal action.
The acting chief of the election commission, Ram Prasad Bhandari, met with the prime minister, Sushila Karki, to talk about these plans.
Nepal's election code of conduct will be enforced from January 17 ahead of the March 5 elections.
The Election Commission will monitor social media for false information, hate messages, and deep fakes.
Legal action will be taken against those spreading misinformation or engaging in negative publicity.
The commission has contacted Meta, Tiktok, and X regarding the monitoring efforts.
Social media monitoring software will be used to aid in the enforcement of the code of conduct.
