HAL Expands Civil Aviation at Wings India 2026
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is showing off its new airplanes and helicopters at a big event called Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad.
They have three main things to show: the H-228 airplane, the Dhruv NG helicopter, and the new SJ-100 airplane.
The boss of HAL, D K Sunil, says this is part of their plan to make India better at making airplanes and to help people travel more easily around the country.
HAL also signed important deals with Russia's United Aircraft Corporation to make the SJ-100 in India and with Pawan Hans Limited to supply 10 Dhruv NG helicopters.
The event is happening from January 28 to 31 at Begumpet Airport.
HAL is also planning to make passenger aircraft in Nashik, which is making local businesses very happy.
They think this will help the local economy grow.
HAL showcased its civil aviation portfolio, including the H-228, Dhruv NG, and SJ-100, at Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad.
HAL signed a deal with Russia's United Aircraft Corporation to explore licensed production of the SJ-100 in India and another with Pawan Hans Limited for 10 Dhruv NG helicopters.
The SJ-100, a 100-seat regional jet, is central to HAL's strategy to diversify into the civil aviation sector and strengthen regional connectivity.
HAL plans to repurpose existing facilities in Nashik, Kanpur, and Ozhar for civil aircraft production, aiming to scale up output in line with airline demand.
