Konaseema cattle feed scheme boosts farmers' incomes
In a place called Konaseema, the government started a special program to help farmers who take care of cows.
They give the farmers good food for their cows at a lower price.
This has made the cows healthier and produce more milk.
The farmers are now making more money because they spend less on food for their cows and get better prices for their milk.
The government is also checking if this program can be used in other places to help more farmers.
The Konaseema cattle feed scheme has improved milk production and cattle health in the district.
6.3 lakh kilograms of cattle feed have been distributed through 67 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies.
The scheme has led to a 1 litre increase in daily milk yield per animal and a 2 per cent increase in milk fat content.
Farmers have saved Rs 1.2 crore due to the reduced price of feed and earned an additional Rs 1.3 crore from higher milk production.
The administration is planning a one-year study to evaluate the long-term benefits of the scheme.
