Engineers Develop AI Airbag System for Enhanced Plane Safety
Imagine a plane that can protect you in a crash, like a giant airbag!
Two engineers created Project REBIRTH, an AI system to do just that.
It uses AI to spot problems and then quickly deploys special airbags, a bit like car airbags, all around the plane to cushion the impact.
They also have a system to slow the plane down, and use a special fluid that hardens to protect you.
This invention was inspired by a tragic plane crash and aims to make air travel safer by adding extra layers of protection for passengers.
Engineers developed Project REBIRTH, an AI-powered crash survival system.
The system includes AI to detect technical failures and trigger safety measures.
Smart airbags deploy around the aircraft to absorb impact.
Reverse thrust and impact-absorbing fluids are also used for protection.
The project was inspired by the Air India crash in 2025.
