Vidisha Student Protests Highlight Transport and School Access

Vidisha Student Protests Highlight Transport and School Access

Students in Vidisha protested because they were worried about getting to school and keeping education affordable.

Bus operators in Sironj wanted to raise the student fare from Rs 10 to Rs 25.

Schoolgirls said the higher fare could make it harder for families to send children to school.

The administration stepped in and kept the fare at Rs 10.

Students and activists are also worried about smaller government schools being merged with larger campuses.

They say this could make some children travel farther to attend classes.

Similar protests have taken place in other parts of Madhya Pradesh.

The demonstrations have brought attention to transport, roads and school facilities.
