Vedanta Oil and Gas is working with Beicip-Franlab India to look for more oil and gas in Northeast India.

They will study rocks, underground reservoirs and seismic data.

The project covers 10 blocks, including nine OALP blocks and one DSF block.

It will examine both places where drilling has not started and fields that already produce resources.

The companies will study assets including Hazarigaon and Rudra.

Their goal is to find locations where new wells could be drilled.

They also want to help existing fields produce more.

Vedanta says the work could reveal up to 300 million barrels of oil-equivalent resources and reserves.
