Adani Power Secures Assam Tender, Plans Major Expansion to 42 GW by FY32
Adani Power just won a big contract to supply electricity from a new coal power plant in Assam.
They were the best bidder for this 3.2 gigawatt project.
This is part of their much larger plan to build many more power plants across the country.
They want to grow their total power generation capacity from 18 gigawatts to a huge 42 gigawatts by the year 2032.
To do this, they plan to spend about 2 trillion rupees.
They've already ordered the important parts like boilers and turbines for the first big phase of this expansion, which should be ready by 2030.
This move helps ensure there's enough steady power available, even when solar and wind power aren't generating.
Adani Power has been declared the lowest bidder for a 3.2 GW coal power supply tender in Assam.
The company plans to expand its total power generation capacity to 42 GW by fiscal year 2032.
An investment of approximately Rs 2 trillion is earmarked for this expansion.
The first 12 GW of new capacity is expected to be commissioned by fiscal year 2030.
Adani Power has already placed orders for essential equipment for its expansion projects.
