UK Court Seeks India's Help in Nirav Modi Loan Case
The UK Supreme Court has asked the Delhi High Court for help in a case about a loan that wasn't paid back.
The UK court wants to get information from an official in India who works at the Bank of India.
This official is a witness in the case against Nirav Modi and his company, Firestar Diamond.
The Delhi High Court has agreed to help but said this is the first time an Indian court has done this without the case being directly in India.
They have sent notices to all involved, including Nirav Modi, who is currently in prison in London.
The next hearing is set for January 2026.
Although the UK has approved his extradition to India, Nirav Modi remains in the UK due to ongoing legal challenges and mental health concerns.
The UK Supreme Court requested India's help in a loan default case involving Nirav Modi and Firestar Diamond FZE.

This is the first time an Indian court has acted on a request from a foreign court without the case being directly in India.
