AP Courts Halt as Lawyers Protest Stipend Delay
Lawyers in Andhra Pradesh stopped working for a day to protest.
They want the government to give them Rs 10,000 every month, as promised.
This money is for new lawyers to help them.
The lawyers also want a law to protect them from being hurt.
They are upset because the government is not doing what it said it would.
They even marched to the Collector’s Office to give a letter asking for their money and protection.
The lawyers say this is the first time everyone in the state has protested together like this.
Courts in Andhra Pradesh were closed as lawyers protested the delay in the Rs 10,000 stipend for junior advocates.
The protest was organized by the AP State Bar Federation, which includes 156 bar associations.
Lawyers marched to the Collector’s Office in Bezwada to submit a memorandum demanding the stipend and implementation of the Advocates Protection Act.
