Ishroop Narang Loses Bronze Medal Bout at Commonwealth Games
Ishroop Narang is a young judo athlete from India.
She fought very hard in the Commonwealth Games, a big sports event.
She won some matches and almost got a bronze medal.
But in the final bronze medal match, she lost to a Canadian opponent named Coralie Godbout.
Because of that loss, India didn’t win any medals in judo that year.
Other Indian judo players also lost earlier in the competition.
The whole judo event at the Games had a few medals for India, but none for Ishroop.
It was a tough day for the Indian judo team.
Indian judoka Ishroop Narang lost the bronze medal match to Canada’s Coralie Godbout by yuko.
Narang had earlier advanced to medal contention after defeating Cameroon’s Georgika Wesly Djengue Moune in the repechage.
The loss ended India’s judo campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games without a medal.
Other Indian judokas Yash Ghangas and Avtar Singh were eliminated in the round of 16.
India’s overall judo haul at the Games included two golds, one silver, and one bronze.
