Ford Reportedly Considers Scrapping F-150 EV Truck
Some leaders at Ford, the company that makes the F-150 truck, might be thinking about stopping the electric version of their popular F-150 truck.
This is because a factory that supplies a special part for the electric truck had a fire.
Also, Ford has a lot of these electric trucks already made.
The company said they are focusing on making the regular gas and hybrid trucks right now.
Other big car companies like GM and Chrysler are also slowing down their plans for electric cars and focusing more on gas cars.
Ford has not officially commented on whether they will stop making the electric F-150, but they said they will restart production when the time is right.
Ford executives are reportedly considering scrapping the electric F-150 pickup truck.
Production of the F-150 Lightning was paused due to a fire at a supplier's aluminum factory.
Ford stated they have good inventories of the F-150 Lightning and will reopen the EV production center when appropriate.
General Motors is also reportedly discussing discontinuing some electric truck models.
Major automakers (Ford, GM, Stellantis) are scaling back ambitious EV plans in the U.S. to focus on gasoline-powered vehicles.
