RBI Dividend to Govt. May Exceed ₹2.5 Lakh Crore
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which is like India's bank, is expected to give the government a lot of money, called a dividend.
This money comes from the RBI's profits, including selling dollars.
The amount could be even higher than last year's record.
The government wants this money to help pay for things like big projects and helping people.
The Ministry of Finance is also looking at the rules that decide how much money the RBI can give.
This extra money gives the government more flexibility with its budget.
RBI is expected to transfer a record dividend to the government in 2025-26.
Economists predict the dividend will surpass the previous record of ₹2.1 lakh crore.
The increase is due to higher earnings, including from dollar sales.
The Ministry of Finance is reviewing the RBI's Economic Capital Framework (ECF).
The government is aiming for higher fiscal flexibility.
