FEFSI Urges Tamil Producers to Reconsider September 1 Work Halt

FEFSI Urges Tamil Producers to Reconsider September 1 Work Halt

Tamil film producers plan to stop shooting, production work, and new releases from September 1.

They say disagreements with theatre owners and financial problems led to the decision.

FEFSI, which represents film workers, asked them to reconsider.

FEFSI says many workers are paid only when film work is available.

These workers include technicians, set workers, makeup artists, transport staff, and assistant directors.

A stoppage could therefore affect workers and their families.

FEFSI also said some agreements from a 2023 industry strike have not been carried out.

It wants the government to bring the groups together for talks and create a clear plan.
