Sanjeev Thomas Records Collaborative Live Album in Four Days
Sanjeev Thomas is a musician who made a new album called Comfortably Dumb.
He recorded the music with his band in only four days.
The album has eight songs, but most were not finished before the recording started.
The musicians worked out some songs together while they were in the studio.
Thomas wanted the music to sound real and spontaneous.
He believes mistakes can make a performance feel more alive.
He started thinking about the album after meeting his bandmate Amit at a house party.
Thomas had stopped making music for a while after a health scare.
He now runs Rainbow Bridge, a music school, performance space, and studio in Bangalore.
Sanjeev Thomas recorded his second live album, Comfortably Dumb, in four days with a band.
Only two of the album’s eight songs were nearly finished before recording began.
Several tracks were developed collaboratively in the studio, including one created with musician Sid.
Thomas wanted the album to preserve the spontaneity of musicians playing together rather than polished mass-produced timing.
The project followed Thomas’s return to music after a health scare and grew from a jam session with bandmate Amit.
