India Mandates Political Clearance for Foreign Delegates at Conferences
Imagine you want to invite friends from other countries to a big party or meeting in India.
Now, before they can come, the Indian government has a new rule.
The people organizing the party need to get special permission from two government departments, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Only after these departments say it's okay can the foreign friends get their visas to enter India for the event.
There's a special website to help organizers get this permission.
India's Ministry of External Affairs has introduced new rules for foreign delegates attending conferences.
Organizers must now obtain political clearance for all foreign participants.
This clearance is required for both government and private organized events.
Visas for attending these events will only be issued after clearance from MEA and MHA.
A dedicated online portal has been launched for securing political clearance.
