India Introduces Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication Tech
India is introducing a new technology that will allow cars to talk to each other, similar to how planes communicate.
This technology, called Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication, will help cars share information in real-time about their speed, position, and braking.
This way, drivers can be alerted about potential dangers, like cars they can't see, and take action to avoid accidents.
The government is also planning to make changes to the Motor Vehicles Act to improve road safety.
They are working with the telecom department to make this technology available and are expecting to start using it by the end of 2026.
This is part of their effort to reduce the high number of road accidents in India, which cause many deaths every year.
India is introducing Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication technology to reduce road accidents.
The technology allows cars to exchange real-time information about speed, position, acceleration, braking, and hidden vehicles.
The government has allocated 30 MHz of spectrum in the 5.875-5.905 GHz band for V2V communication.
The implementation is expected to begin by the end of 2026, starting with new cars.
The government is also proposing 61 amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act to strengthen road safety.
