Immortal’s Seductive Vampire Tale Ultimately Needs Much More Bite
Immortal is about a young man named Magi who moves into a flat with a beautiful woman named Sindhu.
He soon notices strange things about her and the home.
Sindhu is actually a dangerous supernatural creature who traps people.
The movie starts by creating mystery and suspense around her identity.
The actors perform well, especially Kayadu Lohar as Sindhu.
However, the story leaves some important questions unanswered.
The film also repeats Magi’s attempts to understand and escape his situation, while providing few genuine scares.
The reviewer thinks Immortal has interesting ideas but needed a tighter story and stronger horror.
Mariyappa Chinna’s Immortal follows Magi, a young man seduced into sharing a home with the mysterious Sindhu.
The film combines horror, eroticism, black humour, suspense, and supernatural mythology.
G V Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar give convincing performances, with Lohar especially effective as Sindhu.
The review praises the intriguing premise, early suspense, cinematography, background score, and open ending.
Inconsistent writing, limited scares, unanswered questions, repetition, and an uneven finale prevent Immortal from becoming memorable.

What Works
What Falls Short
Premise and atmosphere
What Works
The film offers an unusual blend of vampire horror, eroticism, black humour, and mystery, while its flat setting and interior cinematography create a distinctive atmosphere.
What Falls Short
The film reveals Sindhu’s reality too early, repeats Magi’s growing helplessness, and does not develop enough mythology or substance to sustain the feature.
Performances and characters
What Works
G V Prakash Kumar convincingly plays Magi’s gullibility, while Kayadu Lohar captures Sindhu’s sensuality and menace.
What Falls Short
Some character and plot decisions are insufficiently explained, including why Sindhu keeps multiple victims together despite the risks.
Horror and finale
What Works
The film includes effective suspense, a tense pre-interval escape attempt, decent visual effects, and a clever open ending linked to its prologue.
What Falls Short
The actual scares are limited, the antagonist’s powers work inconsistently, and the final confrontation feels unconvincing given her earlier strength.
