Taiwan Plans 'Drone Hellscape' to Counter Potential Chinese Invasion

Taiwan is worried that China, a big neighbor, might try to attack it.

So Taiwan is making a plan to use lots of drones to protect itself.

Drones are flying machines that can fly without a person inside.

Taiwan wants to fill the skies near its shores with drones so they can spot enemy ships and soldiers.

If an attack happens, the drones could track and attack the Chinese forces before they land.

This plan is inspired by the war in Ukraine, where small, cheap drones helped a smaller army fight a much bigger one.

Taiwan's soldiers are now practicing with drones in special 10-day military exercises.

Taiwan also wants to build up to 100,000 drones every month by 2030.

Some of those drones would be sold to other countries, and some have already reached Ukraine.

Taiwan hopes this will keep its island safe.
