NHAI to Build Parking Lots Under Delhi-Saharanpur Highway
Imagine a busy highway in Delhi, and cars are parked all over the place, making it hard to drive.
The government wants to fix this!
They plan to build parking lots under the part of the highway that goes up in the air.
This will give people a safe place to park their cars and make the roads less crowded.
The new parking lots will be near important places like the Gandhi Nagar Market.
They will also have special spots for electric cars to charge up.
The idea is to make the area better for everyone by removing messy parking and adding these new parking spaces.
NHAI plans to develop three parking lots under the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway flyover.
The initiative aims to address unauthorized roadside parking and improve public amenities.
The parking lots will be located near DM East Office, Gandhi Nagar Market, and Geeta Colony bus stop.
A tender has been issued to private contractors for the development of the parking lots.
EV charging facilities will be developed, and 10% capacity will be reserved for electric vehicles.
