Delhi Grants 100% Pay Rise to Disaster Management Staff
The Delhi government decided to double the monthly pay of 32 people who help keep the city safe from disasters.
Before, they earned ₹25,000 or ₹20,000 a month and never got a raise.
Now they will earn ₹50,000 or ₹40,000.
The chief minister said this is fair and gives them the same pay as similar jobs in other states.
The government also plans more benefits like health care and training in the future.
Delhi government approved a 100% salary hike for 32 DDMA employees, the first increase since 2009.
Project officers and district project officers will earn ₹50,000, while project coordinators will earn ₹40,000 per month.
The posts were created in 2009 with UNDP support and had never been linked to regular government pay scales, so they received no revisions or dearness allowance.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the change delivers “justice” and aligns DDMA salaries with comparable roles in other states.
Future welfare measures such as performance‑based increments, medical coverage, and training opportunities are planned.
