Mob Attacks Police in Sandeshkhali
In a village in West Bengal, police officers went to arrest a man named Musa Mollah who is a worker of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party.
When the police were taking him away, a group of villagers became angry and attacked the police.
They threw stones and damaged the police car.
Six police officers got hurt, but they were treated at a nearby hospital and are now okay.
The police had to call for more help to control the situation.
The man was arrested for taking control of farmlands and converting them into fisheries for commercial use.
Two other local TMC leaders were also detained for encouraging the mob.
This is not the first time something like this has happened in this area.
A few days ago, a team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was also attacked when they went to investigate a scam related to ration distribution.
Some people blame the TMC party for these attacks, but the party says they do not support such actions and will support the police in taking action.
The opposition party, CPM, alleges that the incident was 'scripted' to help Musa Mollah escape and that Shahjahan's network continues to operate with impunity.
