Floods Hit MP’s Satna-Chitrakoot, More Than 1,000 Rescued
Heavy rain caused serious flooding in parts of Madhya Pradesh.
About 1,000 people were rescued from Satna and Chitrakoot.
Fifty villages were affected, but no deaths were reported.
The Mandakini River overflowed and water entered some homes.
Rescue teams from the NDRF and SDRF helped people leave dangerous areas.
An army helicopter was also used, but it airlifted only two people.
Food and medicines were taken to affected residents.

Six people trapped in a river in Shahdol were rescued separately.
Around 1,000 people were rescued from flood-hit Satna and Chitrakoot on Sunday, with no casualties reported.
Flooding affected 50 villages after about five inches of rain fell in three hours.
The Mandakini River overflowed, sending water up to 10 feet inside some Chitrakoot homes.
Flooded railway tracks disrupted 28 passenger trains and 20 freight trains.
Ten relief camps were arranged, while rescue teams continued evacuations and supply distribution.
