Kaif Criticizes Pant's Shot Selection in Sri Lanka Test
A famous cricket player named Rishabh Pant plays for India.
He is known for hitting the ball very hard and taking big risks.
In a big test match against Sri Lanka, he got out when his team needed him to stay.
A former player named Mohammad Kaif said Pant should use more 'common sense' when he bats.
Kaif said Pant should watch the new ball for a few overs before trying big shots.
Another player, Dhruv Jurel, played more carefully and scored more runs.
Some people think Pant's risky style is exciting, but others worry it hurts the team.
Pant has already lost some important roles on the team.
This debate about how Pant should play is happening a lot in cricket news.
Mohammad Kaif criticized Rishabh Pant's shot selection in the first Test against Sri Lanka, citing a lack of 'common sense' and 'cricketing logic'.
Pant was dismissed for 39 off 61 balls while attempting an aggressive shot against Keshara Nuwantha in Galle.
Kaif noted Pant jumped three times in the first over with the new ball, suggesting he should have played a cut shot and seen off the new ball.
Dhruv Jurel, Pant's competitor, scored 51 off 68 balls with a better final strike rate in the same innings.
Pant has already lost his Test vice-captaincy and has been out of the limited-overs team for two years.
