BJP Holds Manjalpur Bypoll Despite Low Turnout Election
A special election was held in a part of Vadodara city called Manjalpur.
The BJP chose a new candidate named Satish Patel, who had never lived in the area.
The BJP won the election even though only about 37% of voters went to the polls, which is much lower than the 60% that voted in 2022.
The main opponent was Bhikha Rabari from the Congress party, who talked about fixing roads and water problems.
The seat had been won by the BJP every time since 2012, and before that by Yogesh Patel, who passed away in 2023.
The win shows that the BJP can keep its support even when it changes its candidate.
Satish Patel, an outsider, won the Manjalpur bypoll for BJP.
The election saw a record low turnout of 37% compared to 60% in 2022.
Congress candidate Bhikha Rabari focused on civic issues but lost.
The seat has been a BJP stronghold since 2012, previously held by Yogesh Patel.
The victory demonstrates BJP's organizational strength and ability to field new candidates.
