Pakistan Urges US‑Iran Talks Under Islamabad MoU
Pakistan is trying hard to get the United States and Iran to talk again.
They want to follow a deal called the Islamabad MoU that was signed last month.
The Pakistani spokesperson says talking and diplomacy are the best ways to stop fighting.
He also worries that the Middle East is still unsafe, even though fighting has slowed down.
Pakistan hopes that by talking, the US and Iran can keep the peace and stop any new attacks.
Pakistan claims it is doing its utmost to bring the US and Iran back to the negotiating table.
The effort is under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding signed last month.
Pakistan’s spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stresses that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable path forward.
He expresses concern over the precarious security situation in the Middle East despite a recent lull in hostilities.
