Delhi SIR Hearings Flag Twins, Document Confusion and Accessibility Challenges

Delhi SIR Hearings Flag Twins, Document Confusion and Accessibility Challenges

Delhi is checking its voter list through a process called the Special Intensive Revision.

Many people received notices asking them to prove they should remain registered voters.

Some notices were sent because officials could not find people, found duplicate entries, or noticed unusual information.

At a hearing centre in Trilokpuri, some older and disabled people found it difficult to climb the stairs.

Other people said they did not know which documents to bring.

One woman brought Aadhaar, PAN, a bank passbook, a marksheet, and a birth certificate.

Some families were flagged because their children were twins or because family information looked unusual.

Officials said minor problems could be fixed with a letter from a Booth Level Officer.

The final voter list is expected on November 4.
