Shashi Tharoor: Rahul Gandhi's Chhatron Ki Goonj Failed to Resonate
Shashi Tharoor is a famous politician in India.
He said that big political parties will stop mattering if they do not listen to new voices.
He spoke about a program called 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' that his party ran.
In that program, Rahul Gandhi talked with students about exam paper leaks and other problems.
Tharoor said the program did not really work and young people were not moved by it.
He also said protesters were asking for things that the party had already talked about earlier.
He made these comments at a big anniversary celebration in Mumbai.
The celebration was for IIMUN, a group connected to the United Nations.
Tharoor thinks leaders should have started listening to young people already.
Shashi Tharoor said established parties will cease to be relevant unless they listen to new voices.
Tharoor told Rahul Gandhi that the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' outreach failed to have an impact on youth.
He noted that issues raised by CJP and Jantar Mantar protesters had already been taken up by the party earlier.
Rahul Gandhi had addressed students through Chhatron Ki Goonj about paper leaks and related issues.
Tharoor made the remarks at IIMUN's 15th anniversary celebrations in Mumbai.
