Supreme Court Considers Challenge to Lucknow Lawyers’ Chamber Demolition

Supreme Court Considers Challenge to Lucknow Lawyers’ Chamber Demolition

Some lawyers have chambers near the Lucknow District Court.

The Allahabad High Court said these structures may have been built on public land or pathways.

It ordered notices to be sent to 72 people accused of encroachment.

They must either leave or prove they have a legal right to the land.

If they cannot do that, the structures may be demolished.

The lawyers’ representative said some chambers have been there for about 40 years.

The Supreme Court will consider whether to list the lawyers’ challenge.

It has not yet announced when it will hear the case.
