Nita Ambani’s Amrapali Necklace Took Three Years to Create
Nita Ambani wore a very large necklace at her family’s Ganpati celebration.
The necklace is called Amrapali Bharatam.
It is made from many old-style Indian jewellery pieces joined together.
These pieces came from different regions and time periods.
The necklace includes a Kerala necklace and several South Indian ornaments.
Finding all the pieces took three years.
Fourteen skilled craftspeople then worked for months to assemble it.
Sonam Kapoor wore the necklace first while she was pregnant, using a different outfit to style it.
Nita Ambani wore the Amrapali Bharatam necklace at the Ambani family’s Ganpati celebrations at Antilia.
The necklace combines antique and vintage Indian ornaments from different regions and eras.
Its design includes a Kerala necklace, South Indian naths, jhoomars, earrings, billas and chandbalis.
Sourcing the jewellery took three years, while 14 master karigars assembled it over several months.
Pregnant Sonam Kapoor wore the necklace first in November 2025 with an ivory-and-gold Anarkali.
