High Court Orders Probe into KMC's Inaccurate RTI Responses

High Court Orders Probe into KMC's Inaccurate RTI Responses

The Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) was asked to give the public true information about some land.

An RTI activist, Gopal, asked for details about a piece of land owned by the SPCA.

The KMC gave wrong answers, saying the land was government property, but it was actually private.

Residents of a nearby colony also complained that the KMC said the land belonged to the city in 2015, but in 2026 it said the opposite.

Because of these mixed messages, the Andhra Pradesh High Court told the police to investigate the KMC’s mistakes.

The goal is to make sure people get accurate information about who owns the land.
