Aland ‘vote theft’: Karnataka High Court rejects former BJP MLA’s plea to scrap chargesheet · indianexpress.com

The Karnataka High Court considered a request to cancel a chargesheet in the 2023 Aland vote theft case.

The request was made by former BJP MLA Subhash Guttedar and two other accused people.

The court did not cancel the chargesheet.

Instead, it said they should first ask the trial court to discharge them from the case.

They may return to the High Court if that request is rejected.

A special court in Bengaluru has scheduled September 16 to frame charges.

Several accused people had already received bail.

Another accused, Bapi Adya, appeared after missing earlier hearings and was granted bail after paying a Rs 500 fine.
